In the Beginning……

1974 The burger was invented.


In 1990s 3 Kiwi guys travelled to the UK. The guys were working in London and really missed the food from back home in New Zealand, So….


…. They teamed up with a world-renowned chef from New Zealand and decided to open their own Restaurant.


In 2001 the first GBK restaurant opened its doors in Battersea.

Soon, more restaurants we’re opening in London.

2006 The first GBK outside of London Opened in Brighton.

2007 we ventured into shopping centres starting with Basingstoke then Westfield London in 2008.

In 2008 we opened Baker Street which is where our test kitchen is.

In 2009 the removing of the satay burger caused rioting on social media

Soon, more restaurants were opening in London.

2006 The first GBK outside of London opened in Brighton.

In 2008 we also opened Baker Street which is home to our test kitchen.

In 2009 the removal of the Satay Burger caused rioting on social media (don't panic, we brought it back!)

2011 the Taxi-driver hit our menus.

The GBK app launched in 2012, allowing you to order and collect takeaways, or have your favourite GBK delivered.

We also opened some global franchises in Greece and Dubai

GBK is all about straight-up honesty in everything we do. We're talking about burgers made fresh from real ingredients, service delivered by real people with genuine smiles and treating our team in an honest and straight-up way. We don't let each other down and whatever happens, we stay true to what matters.

Be Generous

Feeding people is good fun. It makes them smile and that makes us smile. We know when to go the extra mile for a customer and we don't need a rule book to tell us. We're also generous with each other. We'll make sure that everyone who works with us is well rewarded, treated fairly at all times and given the support to be the best they can be. Generous in burgers, generous in spirit!

Stay Hungry

Never stop looking for new ways to do things - you never know where and when the inspiration will strike - either for the next burger special, a brilliant business idea or just a better way to serve our customers. We love what we do and we never take ourselves too seriously, so laughter will always be an important part of GBK. We know how to celebrate, whether it's an awards evening, team night out or a few beers after a shift. Laughter is a part of what makes us GBK.

We want to deliver the ultimate burger experience from the first bite to the last. That means paying attention to detail in all we do, from presenting a perfectly crafted Classic Cheese to making sure the music level is just right or replacing that light bulb! We keep an eye on the little things as they all add up to a memorable GBK experience.
